Choose Your Company Wisely
I have seen many people get involved with deals based purely on emotional decisions, maybe they went to a live meeting or a webinar. Whilst these are great places to sell opportunities, you should have some resistance to the emotional hype which you may be faced with so you can still make a rational decision. With any company you join it is important that their core values are in alignment with yours plus you should at least like the product you will be selling. You won't get that far if you are trying to fool yourself and others that you are passionate about the product involved. Do your homework into the company and find out their history, have there been any complaints? Are they still growing, is there a demand for the product etc...
Be sure to use your time with your team productively
Once you have a team under you, it's important not to become their baby sitter. Always remember that everyone is responsible for their own success at the end of the day. Of course you should be and will be expected to spend time coaching your team but you should be giving your personal one to one time to those people in your organization that are actually taking action For the rest of your team you should be doing trainings in a group setting, this might be by videos, webcalls, or even offline meetings.
Only do things that will grow your business and earn money
Its so easy to get distracted with emails and social networks, YouTube videos, the latest news story etc... Try and avoid these things. try and create a time slot in your day where you will indulge in such activities. The remainder of your time should be devoted to marketing and doing things that produce leads and then money. Set yourself out with a gameplan each day of exactly what you want to accomplish, write it down, and don't let yourself have any 'play time' until you have finished your tasks.
Sometimes you might not 'feel' like writing an article or producing a video, maybe you don't 'feel' like calling those prospects on the phone. In these times you just have to be focused, grit your teeth and work anyway, it's the only way to success. Most people don't get through this, they let their mind win and never get anything done and end up quitting, saying it didn't work.
